Traffic - 41-year-old dies in truck accident on A8
A 41-year-old driver died at the scene of an accident involving four trucks on the Autobahn 8 on Tuesday afternoon. According to the police in Pforzheim, the serious accident occurred at around 3 p.m. for reasons as yet unknown. Two 25-year-olds were able to leave their vehicles unharmed, but a 72-year-old was seriously injured and had to be freed from the truck at great expense. Rescue workers took him to hospital. Two other truck drivers were slightly injured.
According to the police, an expert was called in to clarify the cause. The amount of damage cannot yet be estimated.
Earlier, there had already been an accident on the highway between the Heimsheim and Pforzheim-Süd junctions, it was reported. A truck loaded with live cattle and its trailer overturned in the morning. According to the police, the truck driver was slightly injured and treated by the emergency services. The cattle were reloaded into a new transport vehicle. The highway in the direction of Karlsruhe had to be fully closed.
