The incident occurred at the Landratsamt on Sunday afternoon. The approximately 400,000 chickens had to manage without water for a few hours. They were not harmed, it was further stated. The affected company was unable to repair the water network itself and therefore called for fire department assistance. The fire department then brought water to the business and set up tanks.
