Woman killed - 37-year-old man confesses to knife attack on ex-girlfriend

A 37-year-old man from the Celle district has confessed to the prosecution at the Lüneburg District Court for the murder of his former girlfriend. He admitted to the attack in January with a cutter knife, according to a court spokeswoman.

The indictment states that the man forcefully entered the apartment of his ex-girlfriend in Hermannsburg in the Lüneburger Heath in the Celle district. He allegedly inflicted fatal wounds on her neck with other knives from the victim's kitchen.

With the consent of all parties involved, the son's video recording of the proceedings in the courtroom was also viewed, sparing him a statement in the courtroom.

The trial will continue on July 15. At that time, a psychiatric expert is expected to present his report. The accused is currently in investigative detention.

The crime took place in the small town of Hermannsburg, located in the County of Celle, which is part of Lower Saxony. The start of the trial for this heinous crime was initiated at the Lüneburg District Court. The man, who is the main suspect, has been charged with a knife attack that resulted in the death of his former girlfriend. The detailed processes of the trial have been thoroughly documented, and the lower court will continue to hear testimonies on July 15.
