A 35-year-old man is believed to have drowned in the Biggesee lake at Olpe during a swimming accident, according to police reports. Several friends were partying loudly at the boat dock area on late Friday evening, police said on Saturday.

The 35-year-old man was suddenly not seen in the evening. The police discovered the man lying lifeless in the water shortly afterwards. Attempts were made to revive him until the arrival of the rescue teams. However, despite intensive medical measures in the hospital, the 35-year-old man died. The police currently assume that it was a tragic swimming accident.

The police in North Rhine-Westphalia are investigating the swimming accident at Biggesee lake in Olpe as an accidental drowning. There have been reports of increased traffic in the area due to the incident. The loud music from the party at the boat dock area on Friday night might have distracted the man, leading to the unfortunate accident.
