$310 million in July: Harris' campaign team receives numerous donations
The amount was raised through over three million individual donations, with two-thirds coming from first-time donors. The Democratic Party's vote for Harris' official nomination began on Thursday and is set to conclude on Monday. Harris is expected to receive overwhelming support from the delegates.
The Democrats' personnel change poses a challenge for the Republican candidate, Donald Trump. Biden's withdrawal also saw his lead in the polls decrease. Trump's July campaign donations totaled $138.7 million, significantly less than Harris'.
The former president attempted to gain an advantage this week by attacking Harris' African-American identity. However, this move only further increased Harris' popularity.
Despite Biden's announcement not to run in the November 5 election, he stated, "I'm not going to," ending his presidential campaign and endorsing Harris. This decision led to a surge in younger donors for the Harris team.
