Work - 31 applications for police integration officer

For the first time in Rhineland-Palatinate, a position of integration officer has been created at a police headquarters. The pilot project is based in Ludwigshafen, the second largest city in the state. The aim is to break down inhibitions, strengthen cultural diversity and connect people, according to the Rheinpfalz police headquarters. They are looking for someone who approaches others, brings them together and connects them - and acts as an intercultural "bridge builder".

A spokeswoman for the police headquarters told the German Press Agency that 31 applications had been received for the first position of its kind in the country. A decision is expected before the end of the year. "The integration officer is expected to start work in the first quarter of 2024." The exact date also depends on possible notice periods of current employers and will be determined after the decision has been made.

According to its own information, the Rheinpfalz police headquarters is responsible for 900,000 people. With around 2,200 employees, the authority's area of responsibility covers the entire Vorder- and Südpfalz region, including the districts of Bad Dürkheim, Rhein-Pfalz-Kreis, Südliche Weinstraße and Germersheim, as well as the independent cities of Frankenthal, Landau, Ludwigshafen, Neustadt/Weinstraße and Speyer.
