St. Pauli - 27-year-old arrested after life-threatening knife attack
Approximately two months after the life-threatening knife attack on a 25-year-old in the Hamburg district of St. Pauli, the police have arrested a 27-year-old man. The man was apprehended on the previous Monday in front of his residence in the Eimsbüttel district, according to the police. During the search of the German and his apartment, a significant amount of incapacitating substances was reportedly found. The 27-year-old is now in pretrial detention.
He is accused of inflicting life-threatening wounds to the abdomen of the 25-year-old with a knife on May 4th following an argument in the early morning hours. The victim was saved through emergency surgery in the hospital. In the course of the investigation, the police identified a 28-year-old alleged accomplice and a 28-year-old woman who allegedly fled with the 25-year-old after the incident.
Their apartments in Altona-Nord and Volksdorf were searched on Monday and Tuesday, and evidence was secured, the police reported. The 28-year-old was released after the conclusion of police measures. The woman was only taken in as a witness. The investigation is ongoing.
