Investigations - 26-year-old throws incendiary device at police station

A 26-year-old man is suspected to have thrown a Molotov cocktail at a police station in Berlin-Schöneberg early on a Saturday morning. The officers were able to easily trace him afterwards: The man lost a bag with his identification documents during his escape, as the police announced on Saturday. The flames on the building's facade could reportedly be put out quickly by the response teams. The suspected perpetrator is also said to have shouted constitutional-enemy slogans.

The man's determination to avoid identification led him to abandon his bag with identification documents during his escape. The incident at the Berlin-Schöneberg police station is now classified as a crime of arson. Despite the swift fire response, there were reports of minor structural damages due to the fires.
