District of Cloppenburg - 25-year-old driver dies after head-on collision
A 25-year-old driver has died in a collision following an overtaking maneuver near Lastrup(district of Cloppenburg). According to the police, the driver overtook several cars on the Bundesstraße 213 on Thursday evening and then collided head-on with an oncoming articulated lorry. The 26-year-old driver was slightly injured. The man who caused the accident was trapped in his car and had to be freed by the fire department before being taken to hospital. As the police announced early on Friday morning, the 25-year-old died there after unsuccessful resuscitation.
There were several pigs on the semitrailer of the truck. According to the police, the animals were apparently unharmed.
