Schirnding - 24 kilos of banned fireworks discovered
Police discovered 24 kilograms of banned fireworks during a traffic stop near Schirnding (Wunsiedel im Fichtelgebirge district). The 28-year-old driver had probably bought the goods, which are banned in Germany, in a Czech market near the border, as the officers announced on Wednesday. The check took place on Tuesday.
According to the police, F3 categoryfireworks are not permitted in Germany. The pyrotechnics pose a considerable risk to personal health as they often burn uncontrollably. The 28-year-old is now being investigated for violating the Explosives Act. According to the law, those responsible must bear the considerable costs of destroying the banned firecrackers, among other things.
