One's lifelong endeavor - 21st Brandenburg Art Prize awarded to Cornelia Schleime.
Four artists have been honored with art awards totaling 4,000 euros each from the Foundation and the State of Brandenburg. In the field of Painting, Volker Henze was recognized. Klaus Hack took home the top prize in Sculpture and Installation, while Frank Diersch won for Graphics. Sven Gatter received the award for Photography. In addition to these, photographer Adam Sevens was presented with the 6,000 euro young artist prize from the Ministry of Culture. The awards ceremony will occur on July 7th, 2024 at Schloss Neuhardenberg, where an accompanying exhibition will be opened to visitors between June 16th and August 11th.
This year, 347 artists submitted their works for consideration, and a pre-jury chose 52 pieces for the final round. Since 2004, the Brandenburg Art Prize has been given out annually, with the ceremony taking place at Schloss Neuhardenberg in the Märkisch-Oderland district since 2005. This year marks the first time the prize is being granted jointly by the State of Brandenburg and the Foundation Schloss Neuhardenberg.
