Investigations - 21-year-old arrested after assault with knife
A 21-year-old man has been remanded in custody for allegedly threatening a cashier with a knife. As the police announced on Sunday, officers provisionally arrested the suspect on Saturday afternoon in Rheinstetten (Karlsruhe district).
According to the current state of the investigation, the 21-year-old allegedly pulled out a knife in a supermarket during the payment process and threatened a cashier with it. The suspect then allegedly reached into the open till and stole money amounting to around 400 euros. He then fled from the store.
The police were able to make a provisional arrest of the alleged perpetrator on a streetcar on Saturday afternoon. The 21-year-old already has a criminal record. The officers seized evidence in his apartment after a search warrant was issued.
The criminal investigation department is investigating.
