ZDF crime series - 200 onlookers at "Nord Nord Mord" filming

The great popularity of the ZDF crime series "Nord Nord Mord" has now also had an impact on filming. "During a recent outdoor scene in Westerland, we counted almost 200 onlookers around the set watching us film," said actress Julia Brendler in a PR interview for the production. She plays the role of Ina Behrendsen in the series.

"It takes some getting used to at first - because no matter which way you look, you're always looking into a cell phone camera that's pointed at you," said the 48-year-old. "That can be irritating, but I'm delighted that so many people like our program." The new crime thriller "Sievers und der Traum vom Fliegen" airs this Monday (8.15 p.m.) on the second channel.

According to Brendler, there are several reasons for the series' ratings success: "I think it's down to the clever mix of the four main characters. Three fundamentally different detectives who treat each other with care and respect despite their differences, and the fascination of Sylt." The actress also mentioned: "The finely tuned mixture of humor, tragedy and crime thriller as well as the competence and love that the entire team puts into the productions, which, in my opinion, is transferred to the finished film."

The 48-year-old explained that filming on Sylt still holds new experiences for her: "Even though I've already spent so much time on this island - even a kind of home can always change. I'm in places that I've been to many times before, but because life is always changing, I also see places with different eyes." The TV commissioner continues: "There's always something for me to discover anyway: It doesn't always have to be some stretch of beach, but even the scent of a shrub in a certain place can beguile me and make me linger."
