Extremism - 19-year-old man brought to court as suspected IS sympathizer
As a suspected sympathizer of the terrorist organization Islamic State, a 19-year-old will have to answer to the Frankfurt Regional Court from this Thursday (9.30 a.m.). The prosecution accuses him of preparing a serious act of violence endangering the state. According to the investigation, the accused decided at the end of last year to travel to Iraq with forged papers in order to take part in the armed struggle there. In the meantime, however, the German got in touch with a police liaison officer so that he could be arrested in Germany at a highway service station in March. The juvenile criminal court has initially scheduled five trial days.
