19 raids in Bavaria for spreading hatred of Jews
The Bavarian law enforcement authorities have carried out raids in several Bavarian cities to combat the spread of hatred towards Jews. On Tuesday morning, 19 properties were searched, according to a spokesperson for the Bavarian State Office of Criminal Investigation. The investigations are being conducted by the public prosecutor's office. According to the statement, 20 suspects are being investigated. This was first reported by the "Bild" newspaper. According to the report, raids were carried out in Munich and Nuremberg, among other places.
In one of the cases, a man is being investigated for posting a picture of Hitler on social media with an allusion to the Holocaust. "We also want to set an example against anti-Semitism," said the LKA spokesperson.
The 20 suspects under investigation are accused of spreading hatred towards Jews, which includes instances of antisemitic content online. The antisemitic act that prompted one of the raids involved a man posting a picture of Hitler with a Holocaust reference on social media.
