1860 Munich lose third division derby against Unterhaching
TSV 1860 Munich have lost the third division derby against SpVgg Unterhaching and are slipping deeper into crisis. The traditional soccer club lost 0:1 (0:1) in its own stadium on Saturday - it was the fourth defeat in the last five competitive matches for the "Lions". The gap to the promotion places in the championship is widening and the Sixties now have to look downwards.
Mathias Fetsch made the difference at the Grünwalder Stadion with his goal in the 20th minute. 1860 striker Morris Schröter missed a penalty in the 62nd minute and his team-mate Michael Glück was shown a yellow card just moments later. Outnumbered, the Hachingen side held on for the win in the snowy conditions. The strong promoted team is now only two points away from third place in the relegation places.
Despite the loss, 1860 Munich still has a chance to avoid relegation, given that they are only two points above the relegation zone in the 3rd league. The defeat against 3rd league rivals SpVgg Unterhaching was a setback for the struggling Soccer club, as they had to settle for a 0-1 loss at home.
