Traveling too fast - 18-year-old causes an accident after passing his driving test

An 18-year-old in Vilshofen an der Donau, Passau district, caused an accident after passing his driving test. The novice driver, following his successful exam, was on the road and failed to realize his speed in a 90-degree turn, as the police reported. Witness statements indicated that he was driving significantly too fast in a 30 zone.

He veered off the road to the left, brushed against a garden fence, hit a large paper bin, and came to a stop after traveling approximately 100 meters. The accident resulted in damages amounting to around 3,000 Euro. The police initiated investigations against the 18-year-old for endangering road traffic.

The incident occurred in Lower Bavaria, specifically in Vilshofen an der Donau, a part of the County of Passau. The young driver, having recently passed his driving test in Bavaria, was suspected of speeding in a 30 zone. The accident on the Danube-side road led to extensive damages, estimated at approximately 3,000 Euro. The local police, stationed in Vilshofen, are conducting further investigations related to the traffic violation.
