Main-Kinzig district - 18-year-old arrested after hit-and-run in barn
An 18-year-old caused a traffic accident in Nidderau(Main-Kinzig district) and fled the scene. He was arrested, as the police announced on Friday. According to the officers, a 35-year-old woman was injured in the accident and taken to hospital.
According to initial findings, the 18-year-old drove his car onto a junction at excessive speed on Thursday evening. He overlooked the vehicle of a 35-year-old woman and the two vehicles collided, according to reports. The suspect then fled the scene of the accident, first by car and then on foot. The police reportedly stopped the man in a barn in Hammersbach and arrested him. The 18-year-old tested positive for cannabis. He is facing criminal proceedings for hit-and-run as well as suspicion of driving without a license and under the influence of drugs. The police are looking for witnesses.
