17 state lists submitted for Thuringian state parliament elections

17 state lists have been submitted for the Thuringian state parliament elections in two months' time. This was announced on Thursday evening in Erfurt by Holger Poppenhäger, the state election director, after the registration deadline.

Parties - 17 state lists submitted for Thuringian state parliament elections

Among the registered parties are not only the political forces represented in the state parliament, but also newcomers and smaller parties such as The Left Alliance of Sahra Wagenknecht, The Animal Welfare Party, or The Value Union with former Constitutional Protection Agency President Hans-Georg Maassen. The Landeswahlausschuss will decide on participation in the 2024 state election in a public session on July 5th.

According to the announcement, a total of 18 parties had submitted their state lists for the 2019 election, all of which were approved.

In the upcoming 2024 Thuringia state election, Holger Poppenhäger's party will participate, having been approved by the Landeswahlausschuss, joining other registered parties like The Left Alliance, The Animal Welfare Party, and The Value Union. During the 2019 election, a national list of 18 parties, including these, were approved to compete.
