Inclusion - 17 million euros for the participation of people with disabilities
In Saxony, around 17 million euros have been invested in projects for the participation of people with disabilities this year. They should be able to participate in all areas of life with equal rights and self-determination, explained Saxony's Minister of Social Affairs Petra Köpping on Wednesday.
According to the information provided, the funding from the Free State was handed out by the Sächsische Aufbaubank. Among other things, three major projects were supported - such as the new construction of a workshop for disabled people in Reichenbach with 6.9 million euros. Around 2.1 million euros in funding was provided for the conversion of a social therapy home in Wermsdorf and 1.3 million euros for the renovation of a building to create a new support and care area in Dresden.
For 2024, Saxony has once again earmarked funding of 18.4 million euros in the budget to improve participation.
