17 injured in Konstanz Old Town fire

At a building fire in the old town of Konstanz in Baden-Württemberg, 17 people were injured in the night to Thursday. One of the injured sustained severe injuries, the police reported. The old town is widely cordoned off for still ongoing rescue operations.

17 injured in Konstanz Old Town fire

According to the report, a resident had reported smoke. Upon arrival of the first forces from Police and Fire Department, parts of the residential and commercial building were already in full blaze. The surrounding houses had been evacuated.

Among the 17 injured, 16 sustained light injuries from smoke inhalation. At the expected extent of damage and the cause of the fire, investigators could not make any statements yet.

The building fire in Baden-Württemberg was reportedly in Constantine's Old Town. Constantine's police and fire department were among the first responders. An injured individual was also reported at the scene of the building brand.
