16-year-old in custody after knife attack

A 16-year-old vocational school student has been remanded in custody after a knife attack on a fellow student. This was announced jointly by the Lower Franconia police headquarters and the Bamberg public prosecutor's office on Tuesday.

Hassberge - 16-year-old in custody after knife attack

A 16-year-old vocational school student has been remanded in custody after a knife attack on a fellow student. This was announced jointly by the Lower Franconia police headquarters and the Bamberg public prosecutor's office on Tuesday.

The two teenagers had clashed on Monday in the parking lot of their vocational school in Haßfurt, Lower Franconia (district of Haßberge). The attacker is said to have attacked his peer with a knife during the argument. The injured party was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The young man was arrested. On Tuesday, an investigating judge ordered that he be remanded in custody on urgent suspicion of attempted manslaughter. The young man is being held in a detention center. Further investigations are being conducted by the criminal investigation department in Schweinfurt.
