- 150 balls of straw are burning in Frankfurt-Seckbach
Approximately 150 straw bales caught fire overnight in a field in the Frankfurt district of Seckbach. Upon arrival, the fire department set up a water supply and began extinguishing the fire, police reported. Due to the noticeable smell of smoke and numerous calls to the fire department, the population was warned accordingly.
Farmers started pulling apart the burning straw in the morning, allowing the firefighters to extinguish it. The follow-up operations continued, and then the police intended to investigate the cause.
The smoke from the fire spread throughout the nearby neighborhood, causing concern among residents. The farmers' homes in the surrounding neighborhood were advised to keep their windows and doors closed to prevent the smoke from entering.
