Process - 15-year-old on trial for manslaughter of girlfriend
Behind closed doors, a 15-year-old is standing trial at the Ulm Regional Court due to alleged manslaughter of his 15-year-old friend. The Prosecution accuses the teenager of having caused the death of the victim in a forest in the Ulm district of Wiblingen around the end of 2023, shortly after Christmas. The 15-year-old girl could be revived but died in the hospital on New Year's Day due to the consequences of the crime. The suspect reportedly called the police immediately after the incident.
The public is excluded from the proceedings due to the age of the defendant, explained the court. The 1st Large Youth Chamber has scheduled eleven hearing days starting from July 19. They intend to examine 28 witnesses, as well as a psychiatric expert and a forensic medical expert. A verdict is expected in September. "Further details will not be disclosed at the moment for reasons of juvenile protection."
The case has shaken the region: The lifeless teenager was discovered during a search in the forest. Emergency services took her to the hospital. The police reportedly arrested the alleged perpetrator nearby the crime scene earlier. He did not resist arrest. The teenager did not mention a motive in the emergency call.
