Upper Franconia - 15 tons of grain on fire: five-digit damage
A truck carrying 15 tons of grain caught fire on its way to a large mill in Upper Franconia. The police estimated the damage caused by the fire on a district road near Pettstadt (Bamberg district) on Monday morning at around 25,000 euros. According to initial investigations, the trailer's brake system blocked due to a technical defect while driving and heated up the trailer axle. The 48-year-old driver reportedly noticed smoke on the truck and alerted the police and emergency services. According to the police, the district road was closed for several hours.
