Underage driver - 13-year-old drives car and crashes into truck
A 13-year-old had an accident with a car in Syke, south of Bremen. The minor was going too fast while turning and collided with a truck, according to the police statement given on Wednesday. No injuries were reported, as per the information.
It was initially unclear how the boy had obtained the car keys. Furthermore, it was questionable who the car actually belonged to. Witnesses kept the 13-year-old, who reportedly wanted to flee the scene before the police arrived, until their arrival. He was subsequently handed over to his parents. Both the boy and the owner of the car could face filing of police reports.
The accident occurred in the town of Syke, located in Lower Saxony, which is nearby Bremen. The car involved in the incident was reportedly speeding before the collision with a truck. The police stationed in Bremen was informed about the incident. Despite the high-speed collision, no serious injuries were reported, which was a relief for everyone involved.
