In Meppen, a 13-year-old resident was lightly injured in a house fire. He was taken to a hospital with smoke inhalation, police reported. The fire, which started around 9:30 AM in a ground-floor apartment of a multi-family building, required seven fire trucks and 32 firefighters to extinguish. The cause is still unknown, and investigations are ongoing. The damage is estimated at around 200,000 euros.

The local news is reporting an increase in crime statistics in Meppen recently. Despite the challenging situation, the community rallied together to help the affected family in the house fire.
