Görlitz - 10,000 euros damage after fire in vacant apartment

At a fire in an empty apartment in Görlitz, damage amounting to approximately 10,000 Euro has occurred. A police spokesperson announced this on Sunday morning. The apartment started burning, of yet unknown cause, on Saturday evening around midnight. No one was injured, the spokesperson stated. There were trash and paper stored in the apartment, according to the spokesperson.

The fire in Görlitz spread news to neighboring Saxony, causing concern among local authorities. Efforts are being made to prevent similar fires in empty apartments in Saxony due to the destruction caused.
