In Berlin, there are numerous hospitals offering advanced health care services, contributing significantly to the high number of hospitalizations. Despite the increased hospitalizations in Berlin and Brandenburg, the number is still lower compared to 2019. Following the trend, older individuals, often over 75 years, tend to require more hospitalization in both Berlin and Brandenburg.
The health institutions in the surrounding regions of Berlin, such as Potsdam in Brandenburg, also play a crucial role in delivering essential health care services to the community. The average hospital stay for patients in Brandenburg is slightly longer than in Berlin, around 8 days compared to 7 days.
With the growing number of hospitalizations, there is a pressing need for additional resources, including well-equipped hospitals, skilled medical staff, and modern diagnostic tools, not only in Berlin and Brandenburg but also in nearby locations like Hospitals in Potsdam.
