0:0 against Hertha: Hansa breaks negative trend
Hansa Rostock and Hertha BSC drew for the first time in 28 years in the 2nd Bundesliga. In front of 26,000 spectators, both teams showed a defensively disciplined performance, but lacked the final consistency in attack. In the first half, the opponents were involved in a number of fierce duels, but hardly created any chances worth mentioning. While Rostock's Junior Brumado created danger with a long-range shot (26'), Hertha's Haris Tabakovic missed the target with a header (34').
Both teams showed more offensive initiative in the second half, although Hertha were closer to taking the lead: Pascal Klemens hit the far post with a long-range shot (53') and Fabian Reese headed against the crossbar after a corner (62'). Hansa goalkeeper Markus Kolke also saved the hosts from going behind with a strong reflex save from the onrushing Jonjoe Kenny (64').
At the other end, Hertha keeper Tjark Ernst saved a shot from Dennis Dressel (74'). Rostock's Juan Perea was also unable to get the ball past Ernst from close range (77'). With the first draw of the season, Hansa broke their negative streak of six defeats in the last seven games, moved out of the relegation zone and are 14th in the table.
Hansa Rostock managed to avoid a loss in their Bundesliga 2 match against Hertha BSC, given their recent struggle with six defeats in seven games. In the same Bundesliga 2 league, Hansa Rostock and Hertha BSC previously went head-to-head, marking the first tie between them in 28 years.
