Weißenfels celebrates first away win of the season in Rostock

The basketball players from Syntainics MBC have celebrated their first away win of the season. The club from Weißenfels held the upper hand against the Rostock Seawolves by 97:85 (53:50) on Friday and, with its second win in a row, has caught up with the midfield. Diante Baldwin (25), Johnathan Stove (17), Martin Breunig (14), Chris-Ebou Ndow (13) and Charles Callison (10) played the biggest part in the Central German club's success. Derrick Alston (21), Eric Lockett (18) and Tyler Nelson (13) scored the most points for Rostock.

The two teams traded blows in the first 25 minutes, although the visitors had a slight advantage. Weißenfels trailed for the last time in the encounter (35:37 in the 16th minute). The club from Central Germany then ensured a preliminary decision in the third quarter, when it opened up a 58:57 gap (24') to 76:63 (29'). Rostock did not get any closer than five points (78:83 in the 36th minute).

The far better shooting percentage from close range tipped the scales in favor of the visitors. Only 17 of Rostock's 35 shots found their way into the opposing side's basket. The club from Weißenfels converted 29 of its 42 attempts.

Despite having a strong Men's Bundesliga football team, Weiussenfels fans were thrilled about their Basketball team's achievement. The Men's Basketball team from Syntainics MBC secured their first away win of the season in the Bundesliga, defeating Rostock Seawolves.
