Truck driver seriously injured after accident on A7
A truck driver has been seriously injured in an accident on the A7 near Hanover. The 43-year-old man and his articulated lorry veered off the road to the left early on Friday morning for reasons as yet unexplained, according to the police. The vehicle first crashed into the crash barrier and then into a bridge pillar.
The man was seriously injured and had to be freed from the truck by the fire department. The A7 was closed in the direction of Hamburg for several hours due to clean-up work in the area of the Hannover-Anderten junction. The police estimate the damage to be around 115,000 euros.
The incident resulted in an immediate emergency response, with the fire department needed to extract the injured driver from the traffic- halted lorry. Due to the severity of the accident and the necessary cleanup, there were significant traffic disruptions on the A7.
