Tom Selleck wants CBS to renew "Blue Bloods" for another season.

The actor fittingly enacts the character of patriarch Frank Reagan in CBS's police show "Blue Bloods." In a chat with CBS News, Selleck was inquired about whether the program was indeed axed.

Selleck replied, "That's certainly a fascinating question. I still believe CBS will make the right choice."

"We're ranked at number three for scripted shows across the entire broadcast. We're triumphant on Monday nights. The cast desires to come back, and I can assure you we're not diminishing rapidly. We're still delivering engaging narratives and sustaining our position. So, what do you presume?"

This isn't simply Selleck's perspective - a devoted online movement has been launched to protect the series chronicling the lives of New York City law enforcement officers.

Selleck, 79, doesn't seem prepared to swear off acting to manage his 63-acre California ranch.

"Perhaps if I cease working, yes. But have I secured my fortune? Yes, but perhaps not enough for a 63-acre estate!"

CNN has attempted to elicit a statement from CBS.
