"The Idea of You" could be likened to the offspring of "Notting Hill" and "How Stella Got Her Groove Back."

"The Idea of You" spins a love story focusing on well-known concepts.

Headed for Amazon, it's a fitting choice for a cozy movie night at home - wine not mandatory but advised - as it strikes a balance in the middle of the box office.

As a follow-up to her husband's betrayal and eventual departure, Soléne (Hathaway), a prosperous art gallery owner, ends up accompanying her teenage daughter and her pals to Coachella. Little did she know that ex-husband had purchased a VIP encounter with the members of August Moon, a band whose fans gravitate towards younger audiences.

A hesitant festival-goer, Soléne bumps into Hayes (Galitzine, famous from "Mary & George" and "Red, White & Royal Blue"), thinking his trailer was a restroom. They share cringe-worthy banter, but the chemistry between them is undeniable.

We're treated to Hayes unexpectedly appearing at Soléne's gallery some time later, confessing shyly, "I don't meet people like you very often."

Despite their age difference and his stardom, Hayes is surprisingly tender-hearted. However, this doesn't ease Soléne's hesitation, as both factors could lead to trouble.

Love and drama develop, with the writers of the film, Michael Showalter and Jennifer Westfeldt, building the story on familiar romantic ground with some predictable montages. The problem is, the outdated elements include the hounding paparazzi and Reid Scott as Soléne's overly sensitive ex-husband.

When it comes down to it, the only thing left to enjoy is the interaction between Hathaway and Galitzine, with the latter taking up a dual role as both the boyfriend and the singer. But despite their charming dynamic, it's difficult not to focus on the fact that Hayes' world and the people therein are far from perfect.

"The Idea of You" will probably be most pleasing for those who aren't overly concerned with the nitty-gritty details, preferring instead to admire the scenery and fictional world presented. Essentially, it's a reassurance that there are no truly unique ideas; only repackaged classics with new soundtracks.

"The Idea of You" premieres on May 2nd on Amazon Prime Video and is rated R.
