Slippery roads have led to several accidents on the A2 in North Rhine-Westphalia. In the area of the Gütersloh junction in the direction of Dortmund, a driver left the road on Monday and overturned as a result, according to the Bielefeld police on Tuesday morning. The driver was slightly injured, but did not have to be taken to hospital. On Tuesday night, a car also skidded when changing lanes near Rheda-Wiedenbrück in the direction of Hanover and hit the central crash barrier, according to the police. According to the information, the car had previously hit a truck, whose driver initially did not notice the collision and only later stopped at a rest area. No one was injured. In total, the Bielefeld police spoke of 13 incidents since Monday evening due to the weather conditions.
The stormy weather conditions contributed to the multiple accidents on the A2, making the roads even more slippery and hazardous. Another storm-induced accident occurred near Rheda-Wiedenbrück, where a car skidded and hit the central crash barrier.
