SEK operation in Havelland town: Background unclear
The police have deployed a special task force to an operation in the small town of Vieritz (Havelland district). A police spokeswoman said on Friday evening that the operation was triggered by an order from the local court, initiated by the youth welfare office. She did not give any further details.
The spokeswoman said that there was no danger to the general public and had never been at any time. She did not initially provide any information on whether individuals were in danger. The main street of the village was closed, and some residents were not allowed to enter their homes.
The police have been on the scene since 1.45 pm. It was a "static" operational situation. Vieritz is a district of the municipality of Milower Land, around 20 kilometers northwest of Brandenburg an der Havel.
