Raum instead of Gosens: Nagelsmann has to reschedule at short notice
Just a few hours after his nomination for the final international match of the year, Julian Nagelsmann has had to make another personnel change. Instead of Union Berlin's Robin Gosens, RB Leipzig's David Raum will be part of the national team squad for the games against Turkey in Berlin on November 18 and against Austria in Vienna three days later. This was confirmed by the DFB on Friday afternoon.
RB coach Marco Rose had previously reported Raum's subsequent nomination. The reason for the last-minute change: Gosens is expecting the birth of his second child in the coming days and therefore wants to stay with his wife.
Gosens had recently been given preference in the competition with Raum for the left-back position. The 29-year-old was in the starting line-up for the first two international matches under Nagelsmann in America against the USA (3-1) and Mexico (2-2) in October. Raum was only substituted against Mexico because Gosens had muscular problems, as Nagelsmann reported after the game in Philadelphia.
The DFB has included RB Leipzig's David Raum in the national team squad, replacing Union Berlin's Robin Gosens, due to the impending birth of Gosens' second child. In a recent international match against Mexico, Raum entered the game as a substitute when Gosens experienced muscular problems.
