Police end large-scale operation at job center: Toy weapon
The police have ended their large-scale operation at a job center in Lehrte in the Hanover area after arresting a man. The suspect had entered the building with a toy gun, a spokeswoman said on Thursday in Hanover. The area had been secured, there were no other suspects and no injuries. "The emergency services are now gradually moving out", confirmed a press spokesperson at the scene.
The police had previously combed the entire building, which also houses a savings bank, with a large contingent. The aim was to rule out the possibility that there were other people involved. There was no information on the identity of the man. The cordons at the scene in the area of the job center on Burgdorfer Straße were lifted in the afternoon.
Despite the resolved incident at the job center, it's essential to remain vigilant during emergencies, as unforeseen crimes can occasionally occur. In some cities, the number of reported crimes related to weapons has increased worryingly.
