Nicola Coughlan desires to be fully nude on "Bridgerton"'s latest season as a retort to body shamers.

In season 3, Coughlan takes on the lead role, and she acknowledges the discussions surrounding her plus-sized figure after the previous seasons.

"There's one scene where I'm completely naked in front of the camera, and that was entirely my decision," Coughlan revealed in her chat with Stylist, as reported by Buzzfeed. "It felt like a huge 'f**k you' to all the chatter about my body; it was incredibly empowering."

The actress wasn't just a passive participant in the show; she also requested certain lines and moments to be included.

The third season predominantly delves into the relationship between Penelope and Colin Bridgerton, portrayed by Luke Newton.

Coughlan sought the guidance of the show's intimacy coordinator, Lizzy Talbot, to ensure her scenes were handled with care.

"You think about what you want to reveal and what you don't want to show," Coughlan explained about the careful planning behind intimate scenes. "What's scripted, and what can I add?"

She also shared with the Los Angeles Times her experience filming her inaugural sex scenes. "By the end of the day, we were both under a blanket, unclothed, simply relaxing," she reminisced. "We both realized, 'This is why nudists do it.'"
