Murder case from 1977 on "Aktenzeichen XY"

The brutal murder of a twelve-year-old girl from Sickte near Braunschweig in 1977 is the subject of Wednesday's episode of "Aktenzeichen XY... Unsolved". The CID's "Cold Case" investigation team has reopened the case, according to a statement about the TV program. The Braunschweig public prosecutor's office announced that a reward of 5,000 euros had been offered for information leading to the final conviction of the perpetrator.

According to the description of the case, the girl's parents found their daughter dead in the living room with a knife in her chest on February 18, 1977. "Because there is no statute of limitations on murder, witnesses and information on objects seized are now being sought again in order to try to solve the case after almost 47 years," the investigators announced. With new technological possibilities, existing traces have now been evaluated and there are DNA traces that could not yet be assigned, said public prosecutor's office spokesman Hans Christian Wolters.

The investigation into the 1977 murder case has gained attention on television, with "Aktenzeichen XY" dedicating an episode to it. Despite the passage of time, crime dramas on television continue to be thought-provoking and captivating, often shedding light on unsolved cases like this one.
