Misa Hylton, mother of Sean 'Diddy' Combs's firstborn son, reveals that the video showing assault on Cassie has revived her own past trauma.
I'm devastated that Cassie has to endure the agony of her abuse once more, and I sympathize deeply with her. I've experienced this firsthand, and it has brought up my own trauma.
Hylton had a relationship with Combs in the early '90s, and they have one child together, Justin Combs.
Her post mentioned their kids, saying, "These young people were brought up by women who prioritize the best for them - we focused on God and education and have consistently worked together to foster their aspirations."
Reverencing Combs' children with Kim Porter, who passed away, Hylton stated, "The younger ones don't have their mother present, and it's been our mission to aid them. Their father needs assistance, and I hope he genuinely engages in personal development and receives it."
On Friday, CNN released previously untold footage of the attack, initially mentioned in a November 2023 lawsuit filed by Ventura against the entertainment icon she was on-again-off-again with from 2007 to 2018.
In her lawsuit, which was settled within a day of being filed, Ventura accused Combs of raping her in 2018 and subjecting her to years of recurring physical and mental abuse throughout their romance.
Combs expressed remorse for his behaviors in the video.
Ventura's lawyer condemned his reaction.
"When Cassie and several other women came forward, he categorically denied everything and insinuated that his accusers were in search of monetary compensation," said Meredith Firetog in a statement. "That he awkwardly apologized only after being caught in his habitual lies demonstrates how desperate he is, and no one will be swayed by his phony words."
