Katy Perry Bids Farewell to 'American Idol' Through Song

Last night on the live finale of 'Idol', a medley of Katy Perry's hit songs were sung, featuring "Teenage Dream", "Dark Horse", and "California Gurls".

Following the performance, Perry hopped onto the judges' table.

The three-hour finale saw Perry perform "What Makes a Woman". She had revealed back in February that she would be departing from the ABC singing competition.

During this season, a winner was also declared - it was Abi Carter, who won after singing Billie Eilish's "What Was I Made For?".

Perry is set to perform at Brazil's Rock in Rio music festival this fall, which clashes with the 'Idol' production timeline.

Since 2018, Perry has been a judge alongside Richie and Bryan.

The official 'Idol' Instagram account posted a video of Perry eating pizza while the top 12 ladies sang her hits, with the caption "We'll miss you @katyperry, thanks for 7 unforgettable seasons! Fly high, butterfly."
