Irritant gas at school - police suspect three youths
Following the evacuation of a school in Neckarsulm (Heilbronn district) due to irritant gas, investigators have identified three young suspects. The boys, aged 14 and 15, are said to have sprayed pepper spray in a toilet during a break on Tuesday, according to a police statement on Wednesday.
22 pupils suffered respiratory irritation in the incident, two schoolgirls were treated on site by the emergency services. A 13-year-old girl was taken to hospital. Classes were able to resume shortly after the evacuation.
In light of the incident, school authorities have emphasized the importance of reporting any suspected cases of crime, including the misuse of harmful substances, to ensure the safety of all students. Subsequently, the school has implemented stricter measures to address emergencies, such as clarifying emergency exit procedures and increasing awareness of potential hazards.
