Helicopter rescues collapsed crane operator from a height

A rescue helicopter has rescued a crane operator in Munich from his workplace at a height of over 50 meters after his health collapsed. The man had made an emergency call to his colleagues on the ground in the afternoon, as the Munich fire department announced on Monday evening.

As the man could not be reached with a turntable ladder or any other rescue vehicle due to the great height, the incident commander alerted the helicopter. The pilots picked up the sick man with the help of a rescue bag and then landed in a neighboring meadow, where the emergency doctor was already waiting. The crane operator, who was around 50 years old, was taken to hospital.

The emergency call from the crane operator triggered the involvement of the Munich fire department. Recognizing the urgency of the situation and the operator's inaccessibility, they requested assistance from the fire department's helicopter unit.
