Hazardous goods truck skids over slippery road and is damaged
The driver of a hazardous goods truck had a stroke of luck on an icy road: on Saturday morning, the 38-year-old skidded with his truck at the exit of a parking lot on the Autobahn 8 near Merklingen (Alb-Donau district). In the accident, the trailer of the truck pushed the towing vehicle in front of it, as the police reported on Sunday. As a result, the trailer jackknifed and came to a halt on the exit ramp.
The towing vehicle probably crashed into the trailer, a tanker, causing slight damage. According to the police, the damage amounted to several thousand euros. The 38-year-old was able to drive on to a nearby garage.
Despite the clear weather, the heavy traffic and storm debris on the Autobahn 8 made the drive challenging after the incident. luckily, no other accidents occurred due to the slick road conditions caused by the storm.
