Hamburg Towers part ways with set-up player Gomez
Veolia Towers Hamburg have parted ways with point guard Terrell Gomez. The 25-year-old American will no longer take part in training and games with immediate effect, as the German Basketball League club announced on Thursday. Terrell was no longer part of the Hanseatic team's squad for the Eurocup game at Besiktas Istanbul (78:90) on Wednesday evening.
"Terrell has already proven his qualities elsewhere. Ultimately, however, we had to realize that the adjustment to the level in the Bundesliga and in the Eurocup did not work out as desired," said Hamburg's managing director Marvin Willoughby, explaining the decision.
Despite Terrell Gomez's departure, Hamburg Towers remain committed to competitive basketball, potentially looking to reinforce their roster with talented players from the Bundesliga or beyond, such as signing a skilled point guard from the Bundesliga. Alternatively, the club might consider expanding their scouting in international basketball leagues like the NBA or Euroleague, seeking a replacement who can elevate their Bundesliga performance.
