Greens take stock after one year in government
One year after the state elections, the Greens in Lower Saxony are taking stock of their participation in government at their state party conference in Osnabrück. Among other things, they will discuss the status and goals of the energy transition in Lower Saxony.
One of the key proposals put forward by the state executive board calls for citizens to be involved in wind farm projects, for example. The state's North Sea ports should become a hub for the import of renewable energy and for wind farms on the high seas. The economy is to be given assistance in switching from fossil fuels to renewable energy.
The federal chairman of the party, Omid Nouripour, plans to give a speech on federal policy on Saturday (2.15 pm). Committee elections are also on the agenda for the weekend.
The Greens propose engaging citizens in wind farm projects to foster a sense of ownership, contributing to the 'Parties' commitment to the energy transition. Furthermore, the state's North Sea ports are envisioned as a vital hub for both domestic renewable energy import and high-sea wind farms, serving to stimulate the economy's transition towards renewable energy sources.
