Officials are found - Drug find: convicted offender arrested on holiday
A 40-year-old convicted criminal from Wuppertal is suspected of reoffending during a holiday from a detoxification facility. The police arrested the man on Monday evening in Wuppertal after a car chase. The officers found drugs along his escape route and in his vehicle, and he also had a five-figure sum of cash on him.
Upon checking his identification, it was discovered that the man had been sentenced to nine years in prison two years ago, among other things for drug offenses. Additionally, the Wuppertal Regional Court had ordered his placement in a detoxification facility, from which he had been granted a holiday.
The public prosecutor's office announced that it would apply for his detention again. "The suspect faces a significant prison sentence due to the new offense," the authority explained. Furthermore, the execution of the sentence will be continued.
