Court: Decision in the dispute between Becker and Pocher
In the legal dispute between former tennis star Boris Becker and TV comedian Oliver Pocher, the Karlsruhe Higher Regional Court will announce its decision today in Freiburg.
At issue is a television report from the RTL programme "Pocher - gefährlich ehrlich" (Pocher - Dangerously Honest) from 2020. At the heart of the case is whether Becker's personal rights have been violated. (Case reference: 14 U 620/22)
The Freiburg branch of the Higher Regional Court is the court of appeal. In November last year, Becker (56) failed in the first instance with his civil action against the comedian Pocher (45).
According to his lawyer, the former tennis pro is demanding that the contribution no longer be broadcast and that it be deleted from the Internet. Three-time Wimbledon winner Becker had contested the ruling from Offenburg in Baden.
