Cars on the move create congestion. - Bridge near Hamburg undergoing repairs: A1 highway leading to Bremen reduced to single lane
Drivers on the A1 headed towards Bremen should prepare for delays starting on Monday at 9:00 am due to repairs on a bridge over the railway line at Klecken in the Stade district. The construction work will occur between the junctions of Seevetal-Hittfeld and Dibbersen, causing the A1 to be reduced to a single lane for passing traffic until June 5th. The Autobahn GmbH Nord made this statement.
Instead of using the A1 from the Baltic Sea to Bremen, drivers are advised to take the A7 towards Hannover, then switch to the A27 after reaching the Walsrode interchange.
A bridge's transition structures are crucial steel components designed to deal with the bridge's movements while connected to the road. During maintenance, these structures can break or rise from the road surface, as confirmed by an Autobahn company representative.
